Could this possibly be the same UNIT:187 who released a paltry debut album just
a few years back, because it most certainly doesn't sound anything like them.
Instead there is a rich compositional arrangement, appropriate use of guitars,
and strong production qualities that make UNIT:187 sound like a brand new band.
A large portion of this could be credited to the addition of two new members,
who include Jed Simon of Strapping Young Lad and Front Line Assembly.
Credit should also be given to Devin Townsend for the his production work as
well as the overall increase in the quality of lyrics. In fact the only thing
that even bears a resemblance to the old UNIT:187 is their use of extremely
amusing but out of place vocal samples. Regardless of the new line-up,
UNIT:187 has finally matured into a project that can cater to both a club
audience as well as those fans of more guitar
oriented industrial music.
Unit:187 is:
Tod Law - vocals
John Morgan - programming
Jed Simon - guitars
Bryon Stroud - bass
