Although "Performance Crippling Data Restriction" has twelve tracks listed in
the liner notes, the entire album is mastered as one contiguous composition. It
seems, however, that each of the twelve movements contains a distinct
collection of sounds that together as a single piece of music is more than the
sum of its parts. Unfortunately, as far as Ambient albums go, this Turk Knifes
Pope release is somewhat mundane. It falls into the monotony that albums
consisting of nothing but drones and ambience often do. The production is
excellent, the cover art if amusing and I love the title of the album, but
musically, it is far from innovative.
